Yes, probably! But we know our clients are your everyday companions. Their behavior for you at home is what it is and that works for you. That’s not a problem! They may or may not currently sit or stay on command, but we don’t need them to be perfectly behaved and trained. We have developed techniques to get them to pose just long enough for our fast shutter speed to capture them in a particular position and with a particular expression. And we will take all the necessary breaks we must to keep them engaged with us and willing to do our next request. Whatever the case, we will spend all the necessary time with your four-legged family member to get them comfortable with us using positive reinforcement techniques.
The safety of your pet is the number one priority during our session and, due to city codes, rare is the circumstance in which dogs (and in some municipalities even cats) are not required to be on leash, regardless of their training. Therefore, in a public location, we must keep even the most well-behaved dogs on their leash for safety and abidance with the law. We have different types of leashes we can use to capture the different images you desire. All leashes will be magically removed from any ordered image at no additional charge.
Your session can include all the pets from the same household. We do not charge extra for the number of pets nor for the amount of time it takes to capture their images. We’ve had to spend the same amount of time capturing one very uncooperative dog as we have capturing several in a different household. It all boils down to what we are trying to accomplish and the necessary time it takes to reach that goal. We also recommend that we photograph ALL your pets during this session, whether your initial desire included them or not. You are not required to purchase images of each pet we photograph, but in our experience, capturing them all in one session made for happier clients in the long run.
Yes! We encourage you to be in the photos too if you desire, as well as any other humans from your household. We encourage you to take advantage of having us in your home to photograph you and your family if you have not done so recently. During our pre-session consultation, we will discuss what types of images we can create for you and whether the session will focus mainly on your pet, or if it will include the relationship between you and your pet, or equal focus on both!
We like to claim central Oklahoma as our travel area. Because we conduct all phases of the process in YOUR home, we are willing to travel up to an hour from our home base location in northwest OKC (specifically The Village at N. May Avenue and W. Britton Road). We are willing to (and have!) travelled further distances, but generally require a small increase in our session fee to cover our travel time. However, we also like to compromise. Since we meet with you a total of four times, we are willing to split the difference. We will travel to your home for the consultation and the session as long as you are willing to meet us in Oklahoma City near our home base for the image presentation and to pick up your products. This compromise negates our need to increase our session fee.
We are neither the least expensive photographer in our area nor the most expensive. Instead of trying to compete for business with price, we have opted to conduct our business based upon the customer service our clientele loves. We pride ourselves in being professionals, in both our business model and our behavior.
Our clients tell us again and again how much they appreciate the way we made them feel and our attention to details and special requests. It is that appreciation that keeps us striving to be the best we can be for our clients and their beloved furbabies!
